2017 Artist of the Year
Wayne Trimm

New York State 4-H Shooting Sports honors Wayne Trimm as their 2017 Artist of the Year.   For 30 years, Wayne Trimm served as Art Director as well as the Featured Artist and Illustrator for the Conservationist, a magazine published by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Wayne is also a trained Widlife Biologist and Rehabilitator who frequently brought one of his rescue birds to the wildlife art and education seminars he was teaching at.  Bramble (shown above), a Great Horned Owl, was put into Wayne's care after it collided with a fence and could not be returned to the wild.

This original pastel drawing of Bramble, the Great Horned Owl was drawn one handed while Bramble roosted on Wayne's other hand during one of those teaching seminars.  Bramble is one of four works of art by Wayne Trimm that will up for sale to the highest bidder at the 18th Annual New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction event at Tower’s Hall in Lake George, NY on April 22, 2017.
